On October 26th, 2004, twenty-four printing and visual design students here at Ferris State University were initiated into the Brotherhood/Sisterhood now known as Gamma Epsilon Tau, Epsilon Chapter. The Epsilon Chapter has three goals which are stated in the Constitution. They are (a) establishing Brother/Sisterhood among those who are willing to work toward the preservation and furtherance of the Graphic Arts, (b) preserving and furthering the Graphic Arts by continuing to progress in all areas of printing and graphic communication, and (c) broadening individuals through a constant search for greater knowledge.

The Epsilon Chapter organizes many group activities, as well as contributing to the success of other groups' events. Numerous Gamma Epsilon Tau members work as employees of the school itself. GET also actively participates in FSU intramural sport programs such as: Broom Ball, Volleyball and Flag Football. The chapter is also actively involved in the community participating in such community service programs as the United Way Parade walk, and raising funds to sponsor campers for the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan’s Camp Discovery.

Gamma Epsilon Tau is comprised of members from graduate and undergraduate Graphic Arts programs in colleges, technical institutes, and universities recognized by the fraternity for their academic record, who are willing to participate in the activities of the chapter and who possess conviction and good moral character. The Chapter holds several events throughout the school year including the annual Pumpkin Smash, which takes place the day before Halloween. This event gives the members a chance to socialize with faculty and students on campus. The Pumpkin Smash brings FSU students and faculty together in a relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the quad, where everyone gets a chance to see, participate and socialize with those who attend the event.
